It is a stated aim of this course to reduce Photoshop's toolset as much as possible to only what is vital for digital painting practice. Here it is with the pallets that we will be using most frequently in this course.

To a painter the Layers, Tools, Channels, Brushes and Channels pallets and the Options Bar are essential things to get to know.

The menus items below are key to digital painting. Some menu items are not covered: Analysis (because it is only useful for scientists), Layer (because almost all its functionality can be found in the Layers Pallet) and Window (because its boring).
